The pool
The History
There has always been a "pool" in San Giustino even though it
was more of a basin than a pool. Surrounded by tufo stones it had always
had the present shape. We still have pictures taken about a hundred years
ago showing women completely dressed swimming in the pool which, then,
was enliven by a central sprinkler.
The style of the facade of the villa is called "barocchetto"
that is a more modest form of the famous baroque style that triumphed
in Rome in the late 1500 and 1600. The swimming pool, built just in front
of the villa years later than the facade, has copied from that one the
languid, intertwining lines that characterize it.The pool is about 10 meters long and 3-4 meters wide so you can't train for the olympic games here, but is ideal for kids that love it (I know it by experience).
Many of oure little customers have learn to swim right here.
There is only one pool for all the guests and the family so it's often the socializing place where we meet and know each other.
