e spent a lovely ten days in the villa, enjoying the relaxing garden and cooling down in the swimmin pool. The temperature during our entire stay was in the 90's! The extreme heat made sightseeing hard work, but we still enjoyed memorable days in Floence, Pisa, San Gimignano, Vinci, Montecatini alto and of course the Chianti wine region.
We tried numerous restaurants in the local area, all of which were different and most enjoyable.
Our trip to Florence was made easier by catching the train from Pistoia and on arrival we bought tickets for the opn top bus tour, which was excellent value for all day use.

We drove to Pisa one afternoon and found parking easily near the tower and then we enjoyed a picturesque tour of the town on a horse drawn carriage, for a bargain 30€.
