Casa Maria

The History

Sometime at the beginning of 1900 in order to house the family servants, the old barn leaning over the house, outside the garden wall, was transformed in this little house that, over the years, has hosted many families, but because Maria's family stayed there the longest and because Maria became such an important presence in our family, we still call it by her name: Maria's house.
The rooms have low ceilings and small size windows like in a mountain cabin which gives the house a cozy atmosphere. The little corner in front of the house is secluded from the rest of the garden by a 2 mt. high hedge providing privacy where you can dine and lay in the sun. The main garden and the fields surrounding it, protect the house from noises.(To check the style of the furniture click over the single windows).
Here is the house when the wooden parts were still green. On the main floor the living room and the kitchen, while upstairs are the two bedrooms and a little bathroom in between.
The ramblers are a wisteria tree and a banski yellow rose, very pretty in May, then in summer they just keep growing.
It sleeps four people.
